Arrived Singapore very late and checked in a hotel on the East Coast which isn't too far from the airport
9/28
Had local breakfast at a food court right across from the hotel before heading to Tenah Merah ferry station. Booked ferry tickets online (http://www.brf.com.sg/) so check-in process was very quick and straight forward. Ferry ride to Bintan was only one hour over the calm but gloomy strait.
After checked in the hotel, kids hit the beach while we settled in the room. Thunder storm finally rolled in in the late afternoon which gave us a break for some rest.
9/29
After breakfast, kids played more on the beach and in the tranquil water, we even saw a brown jellyfish lazily swimming around. They then took a snorkeling trip to nearby water. After lunch we went to the main swimming pool at the resort center and roamed around. On way back to our room, Ethan spotted a long snake slithering in the bushes. Snake was caught by a hotel worker and had Ethan pet it before taking it away.
9/30
Boys did some snorkeling while I walked around the resort and took photos. Return to Singapore on Ferry again. -
9/30 Returned back to Singapore in the late afternoon and enjoyed happy hour and sunset view in the hotel lounge. Enjoyed a stroll along Orchard Road in the cool evening breeze to finish a long day.
10/1 Heritage walk around Marina Bay during the day and Night Safari at the zoo after dark.
10/2 Head straight to Vivo City for connection to Aquarium on Santosa Island. In the afternoon, walked around in Chinatown and then headed over to Boat quay and Clark quay for dinner. Passed by a 肉骨茶 that looked very well known, so we had a light dinner first before 2nd dinner at Jumbo Seafood for the most famous chili crab.
10/3 Boys went to the water park on Santosa while I took the time to stroll in the botanic garden and the famous Orchid Garden. Took Singapore flyer to see the evening view and caught the laser light show at Marina Bay Sands.
10/4 Started in the morning trying to finish the heritage trail and was lost immediately as later found out the building (National Art Gallery) was under construction. Nevertheless we passed by
- Cricket Club
- The Padang
- St. Andrew's Cathedral
- Parliament Building
- Raffle's Landing Site
- Asia Civilization Museum
- Cavenagh Bridge
- Art House
After sending IZ to his playdate, three of us roamed around Chijmes area in the Raffles Hotel, had the famous Singapore sling before continued onto Art Museum and National Gallery. Finish the day off at the largest outdoor food court for dinner
10/5
After morning rain shower, I went for more garden tours at Gardens by the Bay while Ethan and dad spent some quality time near the hotel.
Went to friend's townhouse near the Singapore Zoo to have dinner and pick up Ian.
10/6
took early morning flight back to Shanghai
